The FERO method

Start with the work. Own the outcome.

We run the revenue cycle as one connected operation. First we understand the practice's claims and cash picture. Then we stabilize the queues, assign robot workers to the repeatable work, and manage exceptions with people.

The operating plan

From backlog to better flow.

The cycle improves when there is a baseline, an owner for every exception, and a way to tell whether the next action happened.

01

Baseline

See the actual revenue cycle.

We review payer mix, encounter-to-bill lag, clearinghouse rejections, first-pass acceptance, aging A/R, denial reasons, unapplied cash, and current work queues. Definitions and exclusions are agreed with the practice.

02

Stabilize

Give every backlog an owner.

We separate rejected claims from adjudicated denials, identify pending claims without a recent status check, assign payment variances, and make filing or appeal windows visible. Immediate risks move into a prioritized plan.

03

Automate

Put robots on bounded routine work.

We define data sources, permitted actions, scheduling, exception conditions, and the human handoff. A narrow pilot shows whether the worker behaves correctly before the volume expands.

04

Manage and improve

Keep the cycle in motion.

RCM staff work payer conversations, corrections, appeals, and patient issues. Robot workers maintain the routine checks. Together with the practice, we review aging, denial patterns, claim acceptance, and coverage of pending-claim status.

What we look for

The right first task is specific.

Good starting points are frequent, bounded, and visible. The inputs can be identified, the rule can be explained, and exceptions have someone ready to own them. Teams should also be able to tell whether the new process helps.

We can begin with a single payer, queue, specialty, or task before widening the scope. That makes it easier to learn from real cases and keep the people doing the work involved.

Start with a conversation

Bring us the workflow that keeps repeating.

Tell us where work gets stuck. We will explore the process, the people involved, and where robot workers can make a useful difference.
